I know everyone is giving Kim Kardashian a hard time for basically rocking a couch to the Met Gala, but I woke up this morning feeling feisty and protective of her. Maybe it was the fact I ate popsicles until 3am and the sugar is affecting my brain, but something in my life force wanted to send out some love and support to Kimmie Cakes.
Fuck Anna Wintour! Seriously... Kim should adopt the attitude that she has not one entire fuck to give the American Vogue Editor-in-Chief. Wintour is a seemingly smug 63yo woman that lets her BFF Andre Leon Talley rock bath robes in public. I know Kardashian craves the spotlight and attention at desperate levels, but after being played like Boo Boo the Fool when Vogue cropped her out of the picture on their site (below), she should just give up her Wintour approved dreams of grandeur.
Another thing I feel like nobody wants to acknowledge is how much work it must take to stroke Kanye's ego. Just imagine waking up to the reality that you're carrying the spawn of Mr. West and the baby could be a bigger brat than he is! That's scary... I feel like Kim is constantly getting a bad wrap, but she let this man throw out all of her awesome clothes and proceed to dress her in black rags... and he never smiles or opens doors for her. It kinda sucks from the outside looking in and I do feel <--- this ---> bad for her.
Now, I'm sure Khloe and Kourtney are somewhere letting out a few laughs lol... but really they should intervene on their sister's life force and help her get the shit together.

@kmichelle: Refreshingly Candid
It's actually refreshing to see an artist be candid, yet pulled together in an interview. I didn't watch K. Michelle on Love and Hip Hop ATL, but I actually love her vibe in this interview... plus I've heard her songs and she can blow! I respect talent and anyone that can be candid about their mistakes and progress moving forward. Plus she praised God for his blessings and how it was hard to do a show like LAHH Atlanta while God was blessing her. Can't praise God for something on Sunday, then say "fuck this bitch" on Monday lol...

Domestic Violence and Reality TV: The Court of Public Opinion
A while ago I grew increasingly tired of Reality Trash TV. Between VH1 and Bravo, it seemed like I couldn't go 15 mins without seeing women acting crazy, fighting, yelling, and making fools of themselves for the sake of a reality check. I decided to put down the remote and stop watching. I didn't want to sit around complaining about the way they were representing women (black women in particular), yet continue to watch - - so I stopped watching.
Everyone knows Evelyn Lozado from VH1's "Basketball Wives" series and can attest to her feisty, immature nature... always ready to curse someone out or go up someone's head... with her hand or a bottle. It's a mess. When she made news for getting involved in a domestic dispute with NFL husband Chad Johnson folks were surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) jumping to his defense and painting her as the bad person. Now, nobody was in the car so who knows how things actually went down... and in all honesty, who cares! She has a 3 inch gash on her forehead. Period.
What I care more about is her recently issued statement regarding domestic violence and wanting to take a stand against it... be the voice of women. I think that's all great, but how about taking a stand against violence in general. Don't be the chick that's ready to crack a chick's head open, then cry victim when your man cracks yours open. Violence really is violence. Keep your hands to yourself and treat people the way you want to be treated.
I found this ESPN coverage of the incident refreshing and I liked their stance. It's nice to hear real opinions and not the overly constructed, typical coverage most news organizations present. Violence and domestic violence is a very sensitive subject, but I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts on this.

Kim Kardashian’s Music Video “Jam (Turn It Up)” Directed By Hype Williams [Video]
**Update** Guess the video got pulled down just that fast! lol... Kim K stays on top of her stuff!
When her song didn't take off Kim Kardashian did a great job of making sure the music video never saw the light of day. The following is a clip I was sent via Bossip.com and although it's short, I don't think it's too shabby! Kim Kardashian is definitely NOT a singer, but Hype Williams did a wonderful job, as to be expected.

Aubrey speaks out
With all of the Danity Kane hoopla going on, the usual motor mouth Aubrey O'Day managed to remain pretty mum on her side of the story. Today she released the following on her Myspace blog:
I wonder if Puff let her out of her contract or if he is going to still make some cash off of her? Mmmm...

From The Hills... to The City... to The Hills again...oh my

Whitney Port, a staple character of "The Hills" though not overly present will be continuing her story on "The City". The name is not original nor was Whitney an interesting/entertaining enough character to make me follow her story. I watched the preview and it seemed like this will be a decent show. I like the New York lifestyle...her job is amazing...but I am hoping that she'll grow more comfortable in front of the camera. Here's a preview:
Another show that I'm excited about is "Daddy's Girls" featuring Vanessa and Angela Simmons. It's nice for MTV to showcase young, black women that despite having well-off parents are making a name for themselves in the business world and having fun in the process. One thing I noticed is that it appears that MTV handed down the old apartment from "The Hills" that Lauren/Heidi/Audrina lived in to Angela and Vanessa...or maybe that's just the most popular building in LA...who knows! Joining the girls in LA is their cousin Jessica from New York as well as a neighbor Alyssia...or Alicia...(I don't know how she spells it). Be sure to check out the show premiering January 5th on MTV.

Real House(less) Wives of Atlanta

After production of the show ended there was much speculation as to how lavish these women were truly living. In my opinion, DeShawn -

In the news there have been a lot of inaccuracies being uncovered regarding Nene and Greg's " We are are the Jones' " lifestyle. First, Nene and Greg never owned the Duluth, GA home they lived in during taping, but merely

Life is rough and the economy is awful right now. I always thought these chicks seemed ridiculous spending outrageous amounts of cash on meaningless things on the show. The point of the show is to showcase how the upper crust, elite members of society are living in an entertaining way. There's nothing entertaining about watching grown women bicker like teens while they really have nothing at all. I think Bravo needs to find some black women that are truly successful and not just riding the coattails of their athlete husband or perpetrating for the cameras.
