White Collar Brawlers: Office Rivals Settle it in the Ring (via @WCBrawlers)

Embedded image permalinkMost people have experienced at least 1 or 2 annoying co-workers in their professional life. Some keep it professional and don't say anything, some secretly vent to others, and there are some that send a mass email to the team telling them to kick rocks!

Adding some flavor to the typical fighting reality shows (i.e. The Ultimate Fighter), Esquire Network is allowing corporate Joe Blows to get in the ring and fight it out! Getting the chance to kick your co-workers ass in an HR friendly way? Umm... I think they've struck corporate TV gold! lol...

White Collar Brawlers premieres tonight at 10/9c. Feel free to live tweet the show @WCBrawlers or using the hashtag #WCBrawlers.

Taking a break...

While I was visiting Chicago something dawned on me - - I went 11 days without watching ANY reality TV shows. In fact, I only watched one show during those 11 days - - Beyonce's CNN interview with Piers Morgan. (Sidebar: I really enjoyed the interview and can't remember the last time I saw her showing so much personality)

During that much needed break I realized how nice it was to be out living life and not just watching folks do stuff on the tube. When I got home and settled in a bit I grabbed the remote and started making my way through the mess that was my DVR. SO many shows were in there for me to watch and it was slightly daunting being faced with the fact that I had fallen about 2 episodes behind on many of my favs. Halfway through watching The Real Housewives of New York I decided to do something drastic - - I just started deleting all of my shows!!! Yes, me -- the self-admitted reality TV junkie was going to just go cold turkey and give up 95% of the crap I watched.

Maybe I'm still on a "Chicago high," but being a zombie in front of the TV for countless hours during the week isn't appealing to me. I want to be active and out living life - - even if I'm in SC lol. I could be doing SO many other things with my time besides watching grown woman make fools out of themselves for a reality check.

After my super clean sweeping session the only reality shows that were left unscathed were: Keeping up with the Kardashians and Celebrity Ghost Stories. It's funny because they really are my two favorite shows and satisfy my craving for celebrity and paranormal lol.

Reality Check: Braxton Family Values

As a result of my husband and I downsizing from 2 DVRs to just 1, I had to give up a few reality shows. Braxton Family Values was among the many shows that I big adieu to, however, I was recently able to catch a marathon and I'm kind of a fan.

Last night I watched the season 1 reunion and I can definitely say I'm looking forward to season 2. Even with her obnoxiously loud mouth and borderline ghetto personality, Tamar is the star of the show. I have a soft spot for the baby of the family. I love the family dynamic the show captures and feel like things are pretty authentic.

When I was watching the finale I mentioned to my husband that this show made me want sisters. He quickly asked why because all of the girls seemed "annoying" on the show. I had to remind him that he though I was annoying sometimes lol... women are just annoying - - can't get around it. We all have our moments. I have friends that feel like sisters, but this show makes me long for biological sisters. I wonder what my life would be like with a built-in friend. My mother comes from a super large family (15 kids) and has a grip of sisters so I can attest to the theatrics having a lot of people around can cause, still I can now blame this show (along with the Kardashians) for making me a tad bit jealous I don't have any sisters.

Who else watched this season? What did you like most?

New kids on the 'Reality Block'

Tonight marks the addition of two new shows to the world of reality TV: "Sinbad: It's Just Family" and "Braxton Family Values". Both shows feature the family dynamics of rather famous brown faces - - Sinbad and Toni Braxton.

With 5 sisters the Braxtons have a female brood that rivals that of the Kardashians. Baby sister Tamar seems like she may be the breakout star as she isn't one to bite her tongue and is full of one liners. I never knew much about their family so this show will be a whole need learning experience for me. Hell, I can only name a few Toni Braxton songs lol. Still, it looks like it may be one to watch.

Catch the season premiere tonight on WE tv @ 8/9c

After being divorced for 10 years, Sinbad and his ex-wife are getting back together, along with their 20-something kids moving back into the family home. This show chronicles Sinbad's journey trying to make a come-back in Hollywood and reconnect his family unit.

I'm always fascinated with celebs that are obsessed with making a "come-back". Is it so bad to have had success, made your $, and be left to go about living a normal life? Sinbad always came off as a little bit corny to me, but the show may be a nice change of pace for him... it really just depends on what he does with it.

Series premieres tonight on WE tv @ 10/9c

Reality Check: Khloe & Lamar

Yes, it's another reality show... another celeb couple bringing cameras into their home, but Khloe is my absolute favorite and I'm SO excited for the premiere of her show tonight.

Khloe & Lamar airs tonight on E! @ 10/9c and something about Khloe & Lamar's personalities make me feel as if this show will be more down to earth and real. I have a soft spot in my heart for the lovable cancer because we share the same bday (day/year) so I feel like I can relate to her personality and crazy antics. I hope everyone will be watching.

Reality Check: The Dance Scene

I've been a fan of Laurieann Gibson from the moment she boom-cat'ed her way into my heart via Making the Band. She was a force to be reckoned with in the world of dance long before her appearances on MTV and thankfully she's back in her OWN show premiering Sunday night on E! 10:30/9:30c.

The Dance Scene chronicles everything Laurieann and her dancers (affectionately known as "Team Boom Cat"), while showing a behind the scenes look into the world of choreography and what life is like for dancers, both on and off the stage.

For a sneak peek of the show and more of Laurieann's self-described "Full Out" personality, check out the clip below. Everyone needs a little more "Boom Cat" in their life - - Will you be watching?

Reality Check: All About Aubrey

Getting played to the 10th degree by Diddy and fired on national TV is enough to derail someone for a while. But after a much needed break, Aubrey O'Day is back in her new series All About Aubrey on Oxygen ( Mondays 10/9c).

I was a fan of Danity Kane and enjoyed watching them on Making the Band. I mean, I even bought both of their albums!! No illegal downloading for me. Seeing Aubrey back on TV is nice, However... let me just point out that she looks different. She fessed up to being an emotional eater having gained about 15 lbs post Danity Kane drama, as well as a sporting a blank forehead - - an easy giveaway for overdosing on Botox.  Sidebar: Why are women under the age of 40 even getting Botox? Still, Aubrey is giving fame another shot and reaching for her dream of becoming a solo performer.

For those that think this show will be a lot of fluff can I just point out how brutally honest the team Aubrey has around her is... and I don't mean her friends, but the actual music insiders helping her along the way. Her weight is definitely priority number one. Within 10 mins of her first studio session her choreographer tells her she needs to lose 10-15 lbs, take off her lashes, wash her makeup off, and strip away the facade. It was refreshing watching Aubrey put the Hollywood bullshit act on *pause* for a moment so she could get down to work. Aubrey is really talented and I loved her voice. I actually enjoyed the music showcased throughout the premiere so I'm hoping she was able to land a record deal... I'd buy her solo album.

Did anyone else watch last night?

Guilty Viewing Pleasure...

We all have our guilty viewing pleasures on TV, but I've found another on YouTube. HIMAY10NENCE is a YouTuber that I secretly love watching, and if you take a look at her videos you'd probably become addicted too.

I think it's a combination of her "tell it like it is" attitude, sense of humor, and overall country persona (though she's from East St. Louis so I don't know if that would make her country or ghetto....) that make her channel so entertaining. I can honestly say that I don't have any friends like this in real life, but it's nice to pretend via YouTube.

If you're in need of a few laughs check out her channel because she's pretty funny, curses a lot and actually speaks a lot of truth.

Do you have any YouTube guilty pleasures?

Too old to be bad?

This season of Bad Girl's Club is shaping up to be more of the same... fighting, drinking, and immature antics. However, something is not right. While most of the cast is 21 and clueless, Bolingbrook native Charmaine "Char" Warren is 27, a graduate of Illinois State University and apparently left behind her corporate marketing job to join the season 6 cast in Hollywood.

On Monday night's episode some of the girls had invited guys over and when Char asked their age (21) she responded that they were babies. Ummm... hello! Everyone in that house is a baby. 27 is damn near geriatric by "Bad Girl" standards and I've been trying to wrap my mind around what makes a GROWN woman walk away from a steady job (in a recession) to be a "bad girl" in LA?

It could be that she always wanted to make her way into TV and hosting parties... There's never a shortage of chicks hoping to ride the "Natalie Nunn" train all the way to the bank. To her credit she does have a degree backing her, so if (and when) her 15 mins are over she can hopefully go back to her 9-5 (if someone is hiring)... but 27 doesn't leave too much time to recover from making a fool out of yourself on national TV.

I'm 26 and the majority of my friends are hitting 27 this year, so the idea of ANY of us going on this show at this point in our lives is a joke. I can't even give a hypothetical for how I'd react to news that someone I knew was on this show because the truth is I don't have any friends that would ever go on this show at our age. Actually, I don't even have the types of friends that call themselves "bad bitches" lol...

For those that watch the Bad Girl's Club, do you think 27 is too old?

Reality Check: The Bad Girls are Back

I'm reluctant to admit that I've seen every season of Oxygen's Bad Girl's Club, but it ranks high on my list of guilty pleasures. Unlike shows like Basketball Wives, these chicks are under the age of 25 so it's not as hard to watch their outlandish personalities and attitudes. Every season I tell myself I'm not going to watch it again... then the next season starts and I'm glued to my DVR lol.

The 6th season premieres tonight @ 9/8c on Oxygen. If you want a sneak peek check out a few of the clips below.

Reality Check: Kimora's Life in the Fab Lane

Ready for another round of all things Kimora? The new season of Kimora's Life in the Fab Lane premieres tonight @ 9/8c on the Style Network. I already have my DVR set to record... I love Kimora and her over the top personality. She manages to balance being a business exec with motherhood and look amazing throughout the process! She's a friend in my head.

Reality Check: Jilted?

The latest addition to the marriage minded WE tv lineup, Jilted? chronicles the journey of women tired of waiting for a proposal that decide to take matters into their own hands. Not only do they propose to their boyfriends, but they drop the bombshell ultimatum that everything is planned to happen within a week... or they will be gone forever. Talk about making a decision under pressure!

Call me old fashioned but I really believe that a marriage proposal should come from the man. I don't believe in relationship ultimatums either... it just seems like a recipe for disaster! You can't make someone do something they don't want to and marriage is the last thing you want to twist someone's arm to do. I understand that some men drag their feet and women just want to give them a gentle nudge... but going on a reality show where a wedding is planned to happen w/in 7 days? I think these women are playing themselves.

New episodes air Sunday nights on WE tv @ 10/9p central

Reality Check: Teach Tony Danza

Before he was "The Boss" or making a name for himself on "Taxi", Toni Danza earned his degree in History Education from The University of Dubuque. This Fall viewers will be able to see what would've happened if Danza took a different path as he put his degree to use.

Previously filmed during the 2009-2010 school year, cameras followed Danza's every move as he took the reigns as a full time teacher at Philadelphia’s Northeast High School.

In the world of reality TV it's not common to find celebrities doing something with a purpose. I'm excited to see someone strip themselves of their "celebrity status" and get back to the basics.

Teach Tony Danza
premieres on Friday Oct.1st @ 10/9c on A&E. This is a show you won't want to miss, so mark your calendars and get ready to watch.

Reality Check: Bethenny Getting Married?

Drama, drama and more dram - - this season the Real Housewives of New York was intense. Jill and Bethenny were engaged in WWIII and it was draining, to say the least, watching them fight every.single.week. After all that bs it's nice to see Bethenny bouncing back with her own show, Bethenny Getting Married.

Viewers that enjoyed Bethenny's quick wit can get more of it each week as her show airs Thursday nights on Bravo. Watch as she and her husband Jason plan their wedding, prepare for the birth of their daughter, and handle everyday life as newlyweds in the city. It's a refreshing show delving deeper into Bethenny's story line and I can promise you won't be disappointed. The 2nd episode airs tonight so hop in there and catch up!

Why I love Sonja

Thank God for Sonja Morgan.

After a season full of Bethenny vs Jill drama, new NY housewife Sonja Morgan has been the breath of fresh air everyone needed. She's the ex-wife of JP Morgan heir John Morgan and mother to a 9yo daughter (though we don't see her daughter on the show). Sonja is full of life, talks about sex 24/7, and has a great energy that has successfully sucked me in. I was on the fence about her at first but now I'm a fan. I'm glad to see Bethenny transition to her new show, Bethenny Getting Married, and think Sonja was a great replacement.

Part 3 of the reunion show airs tonight on Bravo so catch up on all the drama if you haven't been watching and get a feel for Sonja... she'll be around for a while.

Reality Check: SYTYCD

I love reality tv as much as I love dance... but the only show that manages to blend the two in an entertaining way is Fox's "So You Think you Can Dance".

The 7th season kicked off 2 weeks ago but it's not too late to get captivated. This week dancers are finishing their callbacks in Vegas and Thursday night the top 10 will be announced. It's always nice to see reality tv showcasing talented individuals and not searching for the next Snookie.

For anyone that already watched the show you MUST see this video. They are spot on for the judges!!!!

New episodes air Wednesday nights @ 8p & Thursday nights @ 9p on fox.

Reality Check: Celebrity Apprentice

Tonight the finale of Celebrity Apprentice aired with Holly Robinson Peete going against Bret Michaels. As someone that watched the majority of the season, I can attest to the fact that Holly was the favored winner going into the finale - - that is until Bret Michaels nearly died after suffering a brain hemorrhage last month. I won't deny the fact that Bret worked hard during the season, but he didn't match up to Holly. I think his recent medical nightmare was the major reason for his win. Don't get me wrong, he's definitely a survivor - - but after watching Holly bust her ass the entire season and lose because of a sympathy vote... well, it was a bit hard. On a positive note, both of their charities received MAJOR press because of the show and that's what it's really about. Some blogs were happy to see Holly on the show because she has natural hair and I give that a 0_O because her work ethic and charity went BEYOND hair - - some folks are so simple. She was an incredible businesswoman, mother and competitor. It was nice to see her in action. Did anyone else watch?

Reality Check: Real Housewives of NJ

Last night Bravo took viewers back to Jersey for another season of Real Housewife drama and let me start off by saying.... Danielle, move the hell on with your life! Doing random drive bys with your daughters in the car? Not a good look. Complaining to anyone and everyone in ear shot about your drama with a group of women from last year? Not a good look. When your pre-teen daughters are giving you more sound advice than you can come up with... you have real issues. Is Jersey that small that you can't find other people to socialize with? Grown women should be able to move on with their lives if a friendship doesn't work out...

The preview of the season looks to be like more of the same drama... a trainwreck you can't turn away from. I don't know how much room I have in my life for grown women acting like kids. I graduated from high school years ago... I don't like being taken back there lol...

Nevertheless, new episodes air Monday nights on Bravo!

Reality Check: Paranormal Court

"When people really come to a place where they know that a soul has truly left the body, and still exists and is communicating, it will change all sorrow into tremendous hope. It doesn't exist in my imagination. It isn't wishful thinking - - it is real... and that's a wonderful gift to give somebody." - Robert Hansen

Let me start off by saying that I am a believer in the spirit world. I believe in ghosts, energy, people passing on and crossing over... all that stuff. I'm also a fan of dramatic reality tv shows so you can imagine my excitement when TLC premiered "Paranormal Court" on Saturday night. It's like the Ghost Whisperer on crack!!! Truly my dream TV show.

The hour-long show follows psychic medium Robert Hansen as he helps families solve disputes via speaking to their loved ones that have crossed over. Despite having "court" in the show name, please don't get the visual of "People's Court" in your mind. The families meet with Hansen in his home and he has no prior knowledge of their cases. The first episode featured 3 cases and I must say their stories all tugged at my heart strings. I think I've found the perfect "ghost" show that I can watch without getting beyond paranoid (I wish I could still watch Psychic Kids but I was getting a little bugged out lol...)

Whether you believe in this stuff or not, this show is really entertaining. It airs Saturday nights on TLC so if you find yourself in on a Saturday night and looking for something new to watch, this should be on your radar.

Reality Check: Kendra

Sunday night the new season of Kendra premiered on E! Everyone knows Kendra as part of the original Girl's Next Door Trio (including Bridget and Holly) and watched her for numerous seasons during her stay at the Playboy Mansion. In season 2 of her show, the cameras continue to follow Kendra and her husband (NFL baller Hank Baskett) as they enjoy the birth of their son and life as newlyweds.

The first 2 episodes showed Kendra and Hank's search for a babysitter and quest to reignite their romantic flame with a date night. Another topic that was tackled was Kendra's insecurity with her post baby body. Running with a crew of playboy bunnies wasn't an issue for Kendra's size 23 pre baby body... but she found herself struggling to feel sexy and confident when 3 of her friends came into town to visit.

What I really liked about this storyline was how reassuring and loving Hank was. Never once did he make Kendra feel bad about her body (which some men can do) and I loved that. He was the constant supportive, loving, doting husband. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing but it can wreak havoc on the female body. I think it's definitely a sacrifice to carry your baby and risk having all the "battle wounds" to prove it. Kendra wasn't scared to show her stretch marks or stomach that was leftover after having the baby and I found it refreshing. I mean, she JUST HAD A BABY!!! It took 9 months to put the weight on and it doesn't come off over night.

In the media we are always bombarded with ways to "lose the baby weight" in like a month and the pressure women can face is ridiculous. You want to get your body back in shape, not only for yourself, but you want your spouse to find you attractive again. Not that they don't (many men LOVE the pregnancy body) but as a woman you want to feel, as Kendra said, like you'd wanna "fuck yourself" lol... and it's true.

My question is for mothers out there, how did you handle (or how are you handling) your pregnancy body? What role did your spouse play in helping you thru the experience?
