The cutest dog in Seattle @Khaleesi_GSD

Photo: James L.

I'm one of those annoying people who will listen to a story about your kids, then compare it to what I'm experiencing with my dog. Not only do I embrace the life of a pet parent, but I also believe wholeheartedly that my dog needs an ad campaign lol. A few days ago Khaleesi and I were in the park and approached by 2 photographers wanting to capture some images of us. I was like, "Khaleesi... this is your big moment to be a star! Don't mess this up." Armed with her favorite tennis ball and Chuckit!, I was able to hold her attention and help the photographer get some great shots.

I know everyone thinks their dog is the cutest, but I truly think Khaleesi is one of the cutest dogs in Seattle. She's beautiful, full of personality, has a tongue that gives Gene Simmons a run for his money, and her floppy ears are really working for her. Kinda like a model who works that tooth gap or insanely thick brows. Her floppy ears and long tongue are her signature looks. On top of that, her name is Khaleesi (dopest name ever) and she's basically a real life version of a dire wolf.

A big thank you to James L. for capturing all of these amazing photos of Khaleesi and I. Be sure to visit his page and see the rest of his awesome Seattle photography. Follow the latest pics of Khaleesi on her Instagram page!

Sidebar: Similar to how I got caught slipping back in March when the camera crew interviewed me while I was rocking that jacket with the stain (also walking khaleesi), this time the photographers approached me when I had a semi struggle bun and this unflattering shirt I've been meaning to throw out lol.

The Best Dog Park in Seattle

Sometimes I like Seattle. Yes, you read that right. When the sun is shining, I'm in nature, and taking in the views... Seattle is actually quite beautiful! Yesterday I had the chance to go to one of my favorite places in Seattle - - Magnuson Dog Park -- and spend some time with my puppy.

Water views at Magnuson Dog Park

Many people recommended Magnuson Dog Park and after finally realizing they weren't mispronouncing "Madison," I discovered the little slice of dog heaven! The park sits on 9 acres of land, is completely fenced in, has a special section for small dogs, multiple areas for your dog to explore and even water access! Yes, your pooch can go balls out in the lake if they'd like. It's pretty much everything any dog owner could dream of!

It's become a routine to take Khaleesi to the park at least once a week (if not more) and let her socialize, learn to be a dog, and most importantly stretch those legs and tire herself out! Lord... can we take a moment to give some praise for a tired puppy.

For any dog owners looking to give their dog a treat, I'd highly recommend a visit to Magnuson Dog Park. I promise you'll be thrilled to discover this gem and enjoy your time in nature while your puppy goes bizzerk.

Walking your Puppy (Video)

Since we've been crate training Khaleesi, we've made it a priority to get her out at least twice a day for walks. Walking a puppy can be an interesting experience - - they have to get used to their leash, collar, and/or harness. So far Khaleesi manages to tolerate her collar, loathes the harness, and treats her leash like a chew toy for the first few minutes of every walk.

Right now she's around 20 lbs and full of energy. It's great to see her playing with other dogs and for the most part being an awesome dog! However, we have to keep reminding ourselves that she's only 12 weeks (well, actually 13 weeks as of today), and is still clumsy with her hind legs and building up her confidence.

I wish Instagram would allow videos to be embedded, but I put this on YouTube of a walk we did last night.

Puppy Pulling Your Hoe Card?

While you've been living your life... going to work, going out and being awesome, maybe being consistent in Luvvie's #31WriteNow blog challenge, I've been adjusting to life as the pet parent of a puppy! It's been 10 years since I had a puppy and I'm quickly remembering how consuming they are.

Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but since I was born with a soft spot for 4 legged friends, it's safe to say the puppy is running me... or as my boyfriend would say, she's pulling my hoe card lol. Just take a look at my Instagram (above)... yes, I can officially admit that I'm obsessed with my dog.

Khaleesi is the insanely adorable puppy that entered our lives last week and has proceeded to be the center of all things. My boyfriend would paint a different picture (he's much more of a disciplinarian), but my life force is mush.

When she whimpers, whines, or moans... I'm on high alert to make sure she's okay. *Le sigh* She just hit 12 weeks on Thursday, so I'm bracing myself for another 3 months of work housebreaking her and getting out of the teething phase! Jesus be a chew toy... this puppy thinks everything is fair game for her nibbling desires, me in particular lol.

My Sunshine

I just wanted to share a picture I snapped of my dog the other day. She's so adorable to me... and even as she prepares to turn 7yo this June I still consider her to be my eternal puppy. I rescued her when she was only a few weeks old and she's gotten better with age. Here's to my fabulous, soon to be senior dog!! I love you Jazzy :)
