@WalkingDead_AMC Does is Again

MERLE!!!! Yes, the backwoods hick everyone loved to hate stole the entire freaking show on Sunday night. I cannot even begin to put into words how stellar of a performance he did.

*sigh*

Man, I can't believe he's gone. I think I might miss him more than Shane.

What did you think of Sunday night's episode? So much anticipation leading up to the finale next week... I'll be on the edge of my seat.

The Travel Bug Effect

NFL linebacker Dhani Jones is the newest addition to the Travel Channel family. On "Dhani Tackles the Globe", Jones can be seen jet setting across the country and taking in the most popular sports in the country that's hosting him.

This is a masculine spin on the typical travel shows that usually feature chefs (Extreme Foods with Andrew Zimmer, No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain), travel writers (Samantha Brown), or even playmates (Bridget's Sexiest Beaches). Finally, a show for the guy's guy... and boy oh boy, is Dhani Jones 100% man!

It's hard to talk about Jones without mentioning his uber sex appeal, eye candy status, or his stats. At 6'2", 235 lbs and a size 14 shoe Jones keeps me glued to my tv (mouth slightly ajar) and that 18.5" neck... it sends chills down my spine. Really, he is the prototype for the ideal man. Why can't they manufacture men like this? (sidebar: I can barely write this blog because I'm staring at his abs....)

But there's more to Dhani than meets the eye. This 31 yo is not only an 8 yr NFL veteran, but he's an entrepreneur too. He took his love of bow ties (think Farnsworth Bentley and Andre 3000) and founded Five Star Ties, his own line of men's accessories. When he's not on the field for the Cincinnati Bengals or designing for his fashion line, Jones enjoys writing poetry, oil-painting, and photography.

His show airs Monday nights 9p on the Travel Channel.

Almost Famous: Meet LaRicia

Sooner than later she'll be taking over the screens of your tv, pages of your favorite magazine or hosting the event you just have to attend! Introducing the entertainment diva in the making, LaRicia!

Name: LaRicia

Age: 24

Height: 5’7"

Weight: 160

Measurements: 34-30-42

Hometown: Chicago

9 to 5 gig: GCU,
pays the bills

What you really want to do: Be a publicist in the entertainment industry and working on a TV show.

Worst Date: When I went on a date to play miniature golf and the guy looked at me and asked me if I had it, like this guy was a grown ass man. Then he asked me if I would buy him something to eat. I was 17 and I won’t mention how old he was.

Favorite drink: Patron aka Freakum Dink or Red wine.

If you could tell 5 celebs to kick rocks, who and why?

1.Ashanti, this is my girl and I have always supported her but I was very disappointed with this new cd. Like, I hope she honestly didn’t think that it was banging because it was not it at all. Let’s get your game together honey!!!

2. Brian from Day 26, uhmmm how about you suck it up and learn those dance moves and not talk back to Laurie Ann “Boom Kat Kat”, get it together because you are not fine!

3.Angela Simmons, this is also another one of my girls but BABY please EAT. Being stick skinny is not a good look for her.

4. Luke, ok I feel your TV show but you need to just calm down and retire out of the rap game because that Rodeo song is not the business. I mean you had your time to shine, PLEASE STOP!

5. President Bush, dude it’s over just kick rocks or how about you crawl under a rock and never come out again.

Beauty Secret: Lots of rest and drink plenty of water and your inner glow will come naturally.

Guilty Pleasure: eating Breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream

Alter Ego: Hmmmm I would say her name is Jade and she can be a real bitch if you cross her, or she can be a real FREAK if you treat her right, lol. I only see her when I’ve had three or more Freakum drinks though, she’s too wild, so I don’t let her out much.

Words of Wisdom: “The choices you make determine the life you lead, so make it work”

America's Next Top...Model??

*originally posted on 5/15/08 on my myspace blog*

Despite being in their 100th season, I still find myself tuning in on Wednesday nights to see what drama Tyra has cooked up for the eager model hopefuls. Though half of them tend to have no potential, each season there is one that stands out. This cycle, for me, it was definitely Anya! From her first photo she was high fashion and leap and bounds ahead of the other girls. I just knew she was going to win. She had to. Nobody else came close to her in beautiful pictures, challenge wins, and actual model potential. Well, to my disappointment they announced Whitney - - the "plus size", cheesy robotic pageant smiling girl from the South. I am convinced that this show is a joke. There is no way to justify giving her the win. Anya was superior to her in every way imaginable...and the fact that Whitney actually won...I'm in total shock and disgust.

To me it goes slightly deeper than just the ANTM show, but the Tyra Banks' Bankable Productions corporation as a whole is quite suspect to me right now. Her Tyra Show talk show went from being a "must see" to a "who cares". She started strong but how many "don't lose your man" or "how old do I look" or celebrity interviews can you have? Does Jordan Sparks really bring in the high ratings? Heidi and Spencer? Give me a break....

After last night's huge let down, I'm officially letting go of Tyra in terms of providing entertaining tv. She is in the works to bring a new show to the CW network (Stylista) which is pegged to be an Apprentice meets the world of high fashion. We'll see if she can redeem herself.
