Birds of a feather...

As the saying goes, "birds of a feather flock together" and I'm quickly realizing that my friends and I have our own sense of time. I don't know if it's because we're black or if nothing is really that serious... but our punctuality is damn near non-existent and we always seem to be 30 mins late. It's still at the point where I find it funny... but when it comes to punctuality in the workplace what does everyone think? I know that we're supposed to be anal about time and be early.. and even when you're on time you're technically still late... but when I worked in an office I was usually 15 mins late... all the time... and not because I didn't care about my job... I was (and still am) on top of my job. My quality of work and work ethic are amazing... but I'm not the clock in, clock out type... now that I work from home it's amazing! I swear, I'm a million times more efficient and productive w/o the office politics.

So, my question to everyone is who else suffers from being stuck on cp time? Any cures? lol...

* Even in this economic shit hole of a time, I have numerous friends that are constantly late to work... and I know it's not because they're worthless, they're actually kinda on top of their shit... but you know, the tardy monster is always rearing its ugly head lol *

I find setting my alarm clock about twenty minutes late works....I hate being late and hate when folks ARE late so its never been a real issue of mines. However as you said my friends they are ALL on CP time when I have a get together I give them an hour earlier start time than everyone else because I know atleast they will only be fifteen minutes late (ontop of the hour early)....damn shame....

y'all all need help...who does that? Its soooo rude to me, lol @ me rambling and lashing out

I BEEN on CP time, and I need to stop! I am constantly flying into work barely on time, and I'm sure it makes me look like a mess. My friends are NEVER on time, which irks the hell outta me, especially when I am giving them a ride and have me runnin my gas because they can't pick their damn lipstick on in the car! SMH
Ha, I act like I don't do that, either! People in glass houses, and all that ish:-D

Well you know I'm one of your birds, lol. Girl I'm at least 5 minutes late everyday. If I have to be on time for something I honestly need to start getting ready 4 hours prior and leave at least an 1 hour early. It's not that I try to be late, I'm just slow, however when my hair is on point and I know what I'm wearing that cuts my time down drastically. Lol....

@ BFrank - Yes, I have friends that tell me another time than everyone else. I actually don't mind. Hell, I know I'll be late... so please, do us all a favor and give me another time :)

@ Chrissystina - Yes, people in glass houses!!! It's funny because whenever I'm on time I feel like the world should pause lol

@ Ms. Citygrl - haha... yes, you're one of my favorite birds! At least we ALL are awlays running late lol...

I suffer from the exact opposite. I am always on time or early. I get to parties early, I just can't help it. I HATE being late.

The cure is to always move like you don't have enough time, but not rushing either. If I tell myself, oh I have plenty of time, then I'll drag. If I tell myself I'm on time, then I'll be late. But if I say, c'mon self, hurry up, let's get out of here, then I'll be early or right on time.

Taking public transportation also helps. I have to mind that young bus schedule. LOL!
