Parking Wars

I have a love/hate relationship with the Chicago Police Department...primarily the ticket happy cops in District 1. One side of the street will be permit only...the other side 4 hr parking from 8a-6p, then another side has street cleaning from 9a-3p...and all sides are fucked on game days or soldier field events 2 hours before and 1 hour after (which you hardly EVER know are going on until you look out of your window and notice the cluster fuck of people parking and realize you already have a ticket on your car....Do I sound slightly bitter?? lol) Nevertheless, I was walking to the bus stop the other day and got to see the District 1 cops doing what they do best - - zooming around on their 4-wheelers and writing tickets! Is anyone else a part of the Chicago Parking Ticket club? Here's my contribution...

I have no problem when I'm actually in the wrong but don't just write tickets because you have nothing better to do. Go fight crime...my car isn't hurting anyone. lol

Damn! I guess that's what you get for trying to be hip and live in the south loop. :) Well no parking and lack of back yards.

No problems like that in Beverly. I park mostly in the drive way and I have 0 problems trying to find a parking space in front of my house.

That does suck though!

The Department of Revenue has been busy since the weather got better. I went to renew my parking sticker yesterday and there was a line out the door. Luckily(or unluckily) I only had to wait 25 minutes:-( I am trying to fight a ticket now.

I just want to know how much in kickbacks Mayor Daley is getting for leasing out the parking enforcement to that private company. It better be worth the mess he has caused to Chicago...
